Job Title

Registered Nurse – Stepdown / Surgical IMCU

Location

Boston, MA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 12-Hour Shifts | Expected 36 Hours/Week | Every Other Weekend | Every Other Holiday

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate-level nursing care to post-operative patients transferred from the PACU or SICU, including cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant patients
• Independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips; telemetry competency test required on Day 1
• Critical Care Medication (CC Med) test required on Day 1
• Utilize automated medication dispensing systems as part of routine patient care
• Manage patient assignments within a 38-bed unit at ratios of 1:3, 1:4, or up to 1:4–5 when MedSurg patients are included

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2+ years of recent acute care experience
• Surgical Stepdown experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center is required
• IMCU/Stepdown experience required
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
• Experience with automated medication dispensing systems
• More than one previous travel assignment required
• Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible for submission
• Candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility will be placed at a local rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a tertiary care facility
• Familiarity with high-acuity surgical patient populations including cardiothoracic, vascular, neurosurgery, and transplant
