About the Position

Registered Nurse – Stepdown / IMCU

Contract | 12-hour shifts | Expected 36 hours/week | Days/Nights | Every other weekend | Every other holiday

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 27-bed IMCU/Stepdown unit serving a high-acuity mix of neurology, medicine, and cardiology patients
• Care for patients with complex medical needs including chronic ventilators, tracheostomies, and high-acuity heart failure
• Independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips; telemetry competency assessment required on Day 1
• Utilize automated medication dispensing systems accurately and independently
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:3 for IMCU patients and 1:4–1:5 for MedSurg patients

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Massachusetts or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 1 year of IMCU experience
• 2+ years of recent Med/Surg and telemetry experience
• Experience with neurological care, myocardial infarction (MI) management, and tracheostomy care
• Ability to independently interpret telemetry rhythm strips
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard travel rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Critical care or ICU experience
• Experience caring for patients on chronic mechanical ventilation
