Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist - Oregon, Ohio

Seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to support a Critical Illness and Rehabilitation setting. In this contract position, you will play a vital role in providing intensive respiratory care and ensuring safe patient transport, working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Your clinical expertise and compassionate communication will help guide patients through their journey to recovery.


Schedule/Hours:

• Contract position; specific schedule to be discussed during interview

Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license
• Proven clinical experience in respiratory care
• Familiarity with ventilatory equipment (both invasive and non-invasive)
• Ability to perform oximetry, capnography monitoring, and 12-lead EKGs
• Competence in chest physiotherapy, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Strong interpersonal and patient education skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality, intensive respiratory care and assist with patient transport as prescribed
• Evaluate patients and recommend individualized treatment plans
• Educate patients and families about treatment procedures, purposes, and home care upon discharge
• Administer physician-prescribed treatments using a variety of respiratory equipment and techniques
• Perform routine reviews of chest x-rays, pulmonary function studies, and basic arrhythmia recognition
• Support procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and pleural drainage as needed
• Conduct tracheostomy care, arterial punctures, and endotracheal tube management per policy
• Accurately document all assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the medical record
• Communicate essential information with physicians and during shift changes to maintain seamless care
• Follow all lab-related policies, including specimen handling and quality controls
