POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The School Age Multi-Site Supervisor maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere for staff to succeed in and for youth to participate in. The School Age Care Multi-Site Supervisor assists the Youth Development Director with staff-related matters of recruiting, hiring, scheduling, and employee development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Oversees multiple school age programs, and supports multiple program locations by setting schedules for program and events, shopping for necessary supplies, maintaining child records, and serving as a substitute for staff when needed.
2. Travels to multiple sites, Y branches, and other locations to support programming, site, and staff needs.
3. Recruits and hires staff members, reviews and manages employee timecards to ensure accuracy in timekeeping and payroll processing, and implements strategies to motivate and retain staff.
4. Assists Youth Development Director with scheduling of staff, while coaching and supporting staff through relationship-building modeled in programming
5. Collaborate with the Youth Development Director to plan and operate day camp during summer months, and for days when school is not in session.
6. Assist and support Site Director in maintaining a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for program participants, making ADA accommodations where appropriate.
7. Provides and welcomes ongoing dialogue with parents and caregivers about their child’s needs progress, and challenges connecting families to the YMCA.
8. Assists in administering staff training and completes own requirements, assists in the development and evaluation of staff, and encourages employees to set and achieve goals throughout their employment. 
9. Follows all safety, emergency, and child abuse prevention policies, procedures, and standards established by the law and the Y. Reports and maintain proper documentation of incidents/accidents as they occur.
10. May be assigned additional duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent, with 12-30 college credits.
• At least 18 years of age
• Registration in MERIT system, Portable Background Clearance, Fingerprints upon request, and completion of YMCA trainings upon hire.
• Excellent active listening and internal and external communication skills
• Proven experience in conflict resolution and conflict management
• Previous experience working with children in a camp or after school setting required.
  • Previous experience supervising staff preferred.
• Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
• Commitment to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
• Proof of MMR vaccination required for this position.

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
• The employee must occasionally plan, lead, and participate in active program activities, exhibiting mobility in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

STARTING PAY: $x/hr
