Commercial Construction Project Engineer – Support Elite Commercial Builds from Preconstruction to Closeout

Job Overview

• Company: Reliant Construction
• Salary/Pay Rate: $100,000 to $120,000 per year (Based on experience) plus Performance Bonus.
• Location: Colorado Springs, CO (Hybrid) / La Junta, CO (Onsite) (Position locations vary by project).
• Job/Employment Type: Full Time.
• Project Scope: Commercial.
• Mandatory Licences & Certifications: None Required.

The Opportunity

You will serve as a critical bridge between preconstruction, project management, and field operations at Reliant Construction. Supporting both Project Managers and Superintendents, this role goes beyond standard administrative engineering; on smaller projects, you will take on an expanded leadership role to drive full-cycle project management and implement tech-forward workflows.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Project Buy Out: Partner with Project Managers during buy-out phases, thoroughly reviewing estimates to eliminate scope gaps and utilizing Bluebeam to verify material take-off quantities.
• Submittal Management: Maintain the master submittal log in Procore, review subcontractor submittals for absolute compliance with contract plans and specs, and track long-lead procurement items to keep projects on schedule.
• RFI Processing: Author, track, and manage RFIs in Procore. Collaborative with Project Managers and Superintendents on technical verbiage and proposed field solutions before distribution.
• Document Control: Manage document control systems and revisions, maintaining highly organized project files in Procore and Egnyte while distributing revised drawings to the broader field team.
• Field Support: Partner closely with site Superintendents to update and mark up drawing sets for precise as-built records.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 7+ years of experience in construction engineering, project management, or a highly related field.
• Advanced proficiency with Procore, Egnyte, and Bluebeam.
• Proven ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and estimate sheets to identify scope gaps.
• Experience managing the entire administrative pipeline of complex commercial projects (RFIs, Submittals, Procurement).

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Strong technical background with cost modeling, material tracking, and takeoff verification.
• Experience stepping up to assist or fully manage smaller commercial projects independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate field solutions on RFIs.
