Manufacturing Cost Engineer — Welded Metal Assemblies

Location: Whitewater, WI 53190

Our purpose is simple: deliver precisely engineered, cost-optimized dollies and racks that keep our customers moving. As a Manufacturing Cost Engineer, you transform technical requirements into accurate, competitive estimates and set projects up for success from day one.

• Convert blueprints, drawings, and specifications into detailed cost breakdowns for custom metal fabricated equipment (dollies and racking).
• Partner with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather all inputs necessary for credible estimates.
• Issue clear, on-time quotations that balance competitiveness and feasibility.
• Review subcontractor proposals; negotiate pricing and align scope as needed.
• Continuously research material, labor, tooling, and equipment rates to keep estimates current.
• Curate and update a historical cost database in line with established procedures.
• Support design and manufacturing teams to keep costs, quality, and timelines aligned.
• Track market signals—pricing shifts, supply dynamics, industry trends—to refine estimating assumptions.
• Collaborate with sales to shape strategies and proposals that win work.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Carry out additional related tasks as assigned.

• Proven estimating background within metal fabrication.
• Strong grasp of fabrication methods, materials, and cost drivers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Exceptional math and analytical acumen.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Uncompromising accuracy and attention to detail.
• Clear communication and effective negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to meet tight deadlines independently.
• Excellent organizational and time management habits.

• Experience in a manufacturing environment
