As a Preconstruction Manager at Straub, you'll advocate for our clients by executing an accurate approach, while providing a collaborative process and detailed pricing.If you are passionate about advocacy, let's talk.ResponsibilitiesWork with owners and design partners to understand not only project goals, but the overall goals of the client organizationEstablish and maintain partner relationships, including design firms and sub/specialty trade contractorsEstablish and maintain vendor relationships to stay up to date on the latest product offerings to provide value engineering analysisReview project specifications and plans to determine scopes of workPerform quantity takeoffs in order to derive and compute labor and material cost estimates and to enhance project specific knowledgeDerive and create scope narratives accurately reflecting the cost estimateAttend pre-bid meetings and proposal presentations as required or requestedParticipate in cost trend analysis and market cost trackingDesired SkillsExcellent interpersonal skills, to include listening as well as verbal and written communicationSelf-motivated and punctualAbility to manage multiple tasks and follow through with both internal and external clientsAbility to establish and manage client and partner expectationsEducationBachelor's Degree in a Construction related field (Construction Management, Engineering, etc)ExperienceQualified candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of Estimating or Preconstruction Management experience with a commercial general contractorIdeal candidates will have at least 7-10 years of total experience. Prior experience working in the field (i.e. Superintendent role) is a plusProficiency in the following software is strongly desired: Microsoft Windows OS; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Bluebeam RevuTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
