Together, we’re improving health and improving lives. Labcorp is seeking a Histology Supervisor to join our team at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm Job Responsibilities Supervise the day to day operations of the Histology department Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary Engage in continuous process and service level improvements Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality Control Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations Ensure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures Process and maintain payroll and personnel files Perform administrative duties as needed Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Histology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology 5 years of experience or more as a Histotechnologist/Histotechnician Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Histology, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology 6 months or more of supervising or leading a team Histology and/or ASCP certifications Additional Job Standards In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipment Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures Experience in a high volume clinical laboratory environment Ability to work independently and within a team environment Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position Able to pass a standardized color blindness test Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs Benefits Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO. Pay Range **Pay Range: $90,000 - $125,000 annually All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
