HVAC Service Technician

Job Description About the Role As a HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair residential HVAC systems. You will also be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting systems. Key Responsibilities Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of residential HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues to identify the root cause of malfunctions and recommend effective solutions. Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and identify potential problems before they escalate. Install, repair, or replace components, such as compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, filters, and ductwork. Collaborate with team members to coordinate work schedules, prioritize service calls, and efficiently complete assignments. Communicate with customers in a professional and courteous manner, addressing their concerns, explaining repair options, and providing recommendations for system improvements. Accurately document service activities, including equipment status, repairs performed, parts used, and time spent on each job. Stay updated on industry advancements, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance technical skills and knowledge. Qualifications Must have a minimum of two to three years of verifiable HVAC experience in a residential service and maintenance operation. Must hold Universal EPA certification, preferred NATE or equivalent HVAC certification. Knowledge of local and national HVAC codes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings. Basic change order cost estimating experience. High school diploma/GED required. Associate degree preferred but not required. Self-starter, reliable, flexible with hours. Strong client service skills. Technical aptitude. Bilingual a plus, not required. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a criminal background check and drug test.
