Location: Birmingham, AL (On-site) Employment Type: Full-time Salary: $70,000-$80,000 (DOE) + bonus and benefits Job Title: Buyer - Distribution Industry About the Role Vaco is partnering with a leading distribution company in Birmingham to find an experienced Buyer to join their growing procurement team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing, supplier management, and inventory planning within a fast-paced distribution environment. Key Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for assigned product categories. Source and negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best pricing, terms, and delivery schedules. Maintain optimal inventory levels to support sales and operations while minimizing excess stock. Analyze demand forecasts, sales trends, and lead times to inform purchasing decisions. Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships, evaluating supplier performance and reliability. Collaborate with operations, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth procurement processes. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the supply chain.
