Merchandise Sales Web DesignerLocation: Birmingham, ALContract: 12 monthsThe Web Designer creates digital graphics to be used on our websites and across digital marketing channels in support of 48 Alabama Power Appliance Center locations. The Web Designer will be able to translate high level business requirements and promotional campaigns into branded, intuitive, revenue generating designs that are appropriate to their respective channel. The Web Designer develops site content and graphics by collaborating with the Ecommerce Specialist and Advertising team - designing images, icons, banners, etc. Designs include the following, from concept to execution:Monthly emails designed and testedWebsite graphics (expected 2-3 updates per week)Website landing pages (Gift Guide, Branded Pages, etc.)Blog graphicsSocial media graphicsWebsite UX updatesIntranet updatesThe Web Designer will make continuous improvements to the websites by upgrading site-wide content and graphics as needed through testing and analysis findings, promotional needs, etc.Additional duties:Be familiar with and adhere to corporate brand guidelinesCollaborate with Advertising team on campaign requirements, social media strategy, etc.Support retail stores through special projectsUse design best practices to maximize media's impactCreate, develop, design, code and implement digital contentTest designs across multiple browsers and devicesEdit & proofread content for accuracyManage code repository in GitHubThe ideal candidate would have experience in web graphic design, web user interface design, responsive design, knowledge of web programming and experience working in Shopify with Liquid code. This creative individual would be proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, have strong HTML, CSS and basic JavaScript. They should understand how API connections work, as well as have an understanding of JSON file structure.
