This role provides fundamental market analysis and insights that help inform trading, marketing, optimization, and business development decisions across our North American and global NGL portfolio.Working closely with traders, schedulers, commercial teams, and business development professionals, the successful candidate will analyze market fundamentals, identify emerging opportunities, develop forecasting models, and provide actionable insights that support commercial value creation across domestic and international markets.Position OverviewYour Responsibilities may include:Market Analysis & ForecastingMonitor and analyze domestic and international NGL markets, including ethane, propane, normal butane, isobutane, and natural gasolineDevelop and maintain supply and demand forecasts, market balances, and other analytical models to evaluate market trends and opportunitiesAnalyze key market drivers, including production growth, gas processing activity, fractionation economics, petrochemical demand, infrastructure constraints, and export market dynamicsTrack NGL export flows, arbitrage opportunities, vessel activity, terminal utilization, and destination market developmentsAssess the impact of weather events, geopolitical developments, regulatory changes, tariffs, and evolving market fundamentalsIdentify emerging trends and develop actionable recommendations for commercial and trading teamsUtilize statistical, quantitative, and data analytics techniques to enhance market forecasting and decision-makingCommercial & Trading SupportPartner with traders and commercial teams to evaluate market opportunities, pricing relationships, and arbitrage economicsSupport strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing and growing ConocoPhillips's NGL portfolio and commercial presenceProvide analytical support for new commercial opportunities, transactions, and business development initiativesAssist with ad hoc market analysis and special projects supporting commercial decision makingInsights & CommunicationPrepare and present regular market updates, forecasts, and research to commercial leadership and trading teamsTranslate complex market data into clear and actionable business insightsDevelop reports, dashboards, and visualizations that support commercial strategy and decision-makingBasic/Required:Legally authorized to work in the United StatesBachelor's degree or higher in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Energy Studies, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or a related discipline3 or more years of experience in energy markets, commodities analysis, trading analytics, commercial operations, consulting, business development, market research, or a related fieldExperience working with Excel and at least one analytical tool such as Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, R, or similar platformsStrong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skillsPreferred:Experience analyzing NGL, natural gas, petrochemical, refined products, LNG, crude oil, or related energy marketsExperience using market intelligence and pricing platforms such as Argus, Platts, Bloomberg, Reuters Eikon, Wood Mackenzie, East Daley, or similar servicesExperience building forecasting models, market balances, or commercial analytics toolsKnowledge of NGL market fundamentals, including production, fractionation, transportation, storage, exports, and end-use demandFamiliarity with key pricing hubs, including Mont Belvieu and ConwayKnowledge of statistical, econometric, machine learning, or predictive modeling techniquesDemonstrated ability to convert market insights into commercial recommendationsEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in
