Pre-Opening Operations Consultant The Porcelain Cup | Old Town Scottsdale Contract Position (10–20 Hours per Week Initially) $45-50 per Hour Potential Transition to Operations Manager / General Manager Upon Opening The Porcelain Cup is an elegant afternoon tea room and boutique retail experience currently under development in Old Town Scottsdale. We are seeking a highly organized, proactive professional to help bring our vision to life during the final stages of construction and opening preparation. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with ownership and play a key role in launching a luxury hospitality concept from the ground up. About the Role We are looking for someone who enjoys building systems, solving problems, coordinating multiple projects, and helping transform a concept into a successful business. The ideal candidate has experience in hospitality, restaurants, cafés, retail operations, events, project coordination, or business openings and is comfortable taking ownership of projects with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Operations & Project Coordination Coordinate ordering and receiving of china, glassware, serving pieces, smallwares, furniture, and operational supplies Research vendors and obtain pricing quotes Track deliveries and project timelines Assist ownership with operational planning and decision-making Coordinate with contractors, designers, suppliers, and service providers Attend occasional construction and project meetings Identify potential issues before they become problems Systems & Opening Preparation Assist with setup of POS, reservation, inventory, and operating systems Develop organizational systems and procedures Help create opening checklists and standard operating procedures Assist with licensing, permits, and operational requirements Organize vendor information, contracts, and operational documentation Marketing & Brand Support Manage and grow the restaurant’s Instagram presence Coordinate content scheduling and posting Respond to guest inquiries and messages Assist with grand opening planning and promotions Help maintain brand consistency across guest-facing channels Hiring & Team Development Assist with recruiting and interviewing team members Help coordinate onboarding and training Assist in developing employee handbooks, training materials, and operational procedures Qualifications Experience in hospitality, restaurant, café, retail, events, operations, project management, or business development Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Comfortable working independently Detail-oriented and proactive Experience with social media management preferred Experience opening or launching a business is a strong plus Compensation Independent Contractor Position $35–45 per hour depending on experience Flexible schedule Estimated 10–20 hours per week initially Hours expected to increase as opening approaches Future Opportunity For the right candidate, this role may transition into a full-time Operations Manager or General Manager position after opening.
