Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Palliative Care/MS Tele unit at a cancer hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Inpatient palliative care unit on the 11th floor of a cancer hospital
• Patient population includes those with serious illness requiring symptom management such as uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, and fatigue
• Day and night shifts available (3x12-hour shifts); scheduling rotates between days and nights based on unit needs, reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
• Day shift hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM; Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Floating required to other inpatient units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Epic EMR experience required
• 16-week contract

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or Supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable as a second reference; co-worker references are not accepted

Additional Information

• This is a new unit opening mid-contract; travelers starting before the unit opens will float to other inpatient units for orientation and exposure to the various patient populations
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Former facility employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract
• Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting the position; candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location or will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently
• Multiple parking permit options are available for purchase through CampusParc, ranging from on-campus garage access to budget surface lot options with shuttle service to the medical center
