Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Oncology) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and an OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Inpatient oncology Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes those receiving chemotherapy, managing soft tissue malignancies, undergoing diagnostic services, and requiring symptom management related to disease progression or treatment
• Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention
• Continuous cardiac monitoring is a core component of patient care
• Patient ratio is 1:4
• Special equipment includes GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
• Epic EMR — experience required
• Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts (7:00–19:30 days / 19:00–7:30 nights); shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on staffing needs
• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• Current BLS (BCLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and ABG interpretation
• Skills required: port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, IV insertion, assistance with chest tube insertion/removal, and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management
• 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the 2nd reference — co-worker references are not accepted
• Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting an offer — candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location or receive a mailed fingerprinting packet

Additional Information

• Oncology experience is preferred but not required
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred
• Local candidates are accepted
• Former employees of the facility are eligible to apply once they have been away for 6 months or more
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract duration
