This role is responsible for ensuring customer demand is met while optimizing production capacity, inventory levels, material availability, and operational efficiency.The successful candidate will provide leadership to the planning team, leverage ERP/MRP systems to develop effective production plans, and proactively identify and resolve constraints that may impact customer commitments. This position serves as a critical link between operations, supply chain, manufacturing, and customer-facing functions to ensure efficient execution and business success.What You Will OwnLead, mentor, and develop the Planning team, establishing priorities and ensuring successful execution of daily planning activities.Develop and maintain production plans and schedules based on customer demand, forecasts, inventory requirements, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.Monitor production schedules and proactively identify material, labor, equipment, or capacity constraints that may impact customer commitments.Partner with Purchasing and Materials Management to ensure components and raw materials are available to support production requirements.Collaborate with Production Management to balance manufacturing priorities, resource utilization, and customer delivery expectations.Utilize ERP/MRP systems to maintain planning parameters, production orders, forecasts, lead times, safety stock levels, and inventory requirements.Adjust production schedules in response to changing customer demand, engineering changes, quality issues, supply disruptions, and production constraints.Develop inventory strategies that support customer service requirements while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.Work closely with Supply Chain and Customer Service teams to evaluate customer requirements, expedite requests, and revise delivery commitments when necessary.Partner with Engineering and Quality teams to incorporate new products, revisions, engineering changes, and quality-related requirements into production plans.Analyze capacity requirements and identify bottlenecks before they impact production performance.Lead and participate in cross-functional meetings focused on production priorities, shortages, schedule adherence, and customer commitments.Track and report key operational metrics, including on-time delivery, inventory performance, production adherence, shortages, and past-due orders.Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve planning accuracy, streamline workflows, reduce inventory, and increase operational efficiency.Prioritize and expedite materials or production orders to support critical customer requirements.Support new product introductions, product transitions, and ramp-up activities by coordinating material and capacity planning.Identify supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to minimize operational disruptions.Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.What You Bring - RequirementsBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.3-5+ years of experience in production planning, supply chain, materials management, manufacturing operations, or related disciplines.Experience supervising, coaching, and developing planning or supply chain personnel.Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and material planning methodologies.Experience with demand planning, capacity planning, inventory management, and production scheduling.Ability to interpret bills of material (BOMs), production schedules, forecasts, and manufacturing requirements.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.Ability to make informed, timely decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other data analysis and reporting tools.Knowledge of MRP principles, lead time management, safety stock calculations, and inventory planning techniques.Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive results.Ability to travel up to 20%.Preferred BackgroundExperience in electronics manufacturing, power electronics, industrial manufacturing, or other highly engineered manufacturing environments.Experience utilizing ERP systems such as Epicor or similar manufacturing platforms.Strong background in inventory optimization, production scheduling, and supply chain analytics.Experience supporting new product introductions and engineering change management processes.Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, APICS/ASCM CPIM, or related supply chain certifications are a plus.Ready to optimize what is next?If you are a detail-oriented supply chain professional who enjoys translating demand into practical production and inventory plans, apply today and help Astrodyne TDI deliver excellence across the Operations - EMI Filters team.AAP/EEO StatementAstrodyne TDI is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
