Department Detail - The Food Services department seeks to provide a high-quality lunch for staff and their guests. Food Services seeks to do so while maintaining accountability to BGEA's donors of good stewardship. Furthermore, this department services numerous breaks and in-house functions each week. It also prepares and serves food for special after-hours events. The goal of Food Services is to perform all of this while reflecting the love of Jesus to each guest as the opportunity to serve arises. Job Summary -

Ministry Requirements
- Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
- Faithfully upholds BGEA in prayer
- Participates in daily BGEA staff devotions including Bible reading, and leading group prayer as schedule permits
- Demonstrates behavior aligned with BGEA's Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Hallmarks, policies, and expectations
- Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence
- Prepares and serves guest orders in appropriate proportions
- Is able to operate POS, accepting payments and making change when necessary
- Prepares specialty coffee accurately and consistently in the expected time frame
- Assists, as directed, with daily food prep
- Assists, as directed, to put away dry stock in storeroom, refrigerated food in cooler, and frozen foods in freezer when delivered by vendors.
- Helps maintain a neat and orderly kitchen, serving area and cooler/ freezer
- Keeps consumables and food needed for guest service stocked and rotated
- Exhibits genuine and professional customer service
- Assists with operation and restock of exterior refreshment bar during CATL
- Assists in maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room
- Other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of methods, principles, processes, materials, techniques, and equipment used in quantity food preparation and customer service
- Knowledge of proper food storage and handling techniques, and the quality, safety, and sanitary standards involved in food preparation
- Knowledge of production and processing, including cost controls and other techniques for effective operations
- Knowledge and experience in assessing, coordinating, and preparing food prep levels
- Knowledge of principles of and processes for providing customer satisfaction
- Ability to relate to people well, being approachable, as well as have the ability to manage guest needs simultaneously
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Service orientation, identifying ways to help other people and develop constructive, cooperative working relationships
- Ability to exhibit active listening, verbal comprehension and communication skills
- Ability to move from place to place and stand at work stations for extended periods at a brisk pace
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds, often. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm motions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while demonstrating flexibility when priorities change
- Clean, neat appearance

- Flexibility to work overtime, (early or late), if necessary, as well evenings and weekends

- We believe that all men everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God, that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, and that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, we believe that God will reward the righteous with eternal life in heaven, and that He will banish the unrighteous to everlasting punishment in hell. - We believe God's plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of marriage, that God created man and woman as unique biological persons made for each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9).
- We believe that we must dedicate ourselves to prayer, to the service of our Lord, to His authority over our lives, and to the ministry of evangelism. (Matthew 9:35-38; 22:37-39, and 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15 and 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10; Colossians 2:6-10; 1 Peter 3:15).
- We believe that human life is sacred from conception to its natural end; and that we must have concern for the physical and spiritual needs of our fellowmen. (Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10).
- We believe God wonderfully and immutably creates each person a biological male or female. These two distinct, but complementary sexes together reflect the image and likeness of God.
