Senior Professional Application Designer [Remote]

Job Responsibilities:

Support COBOL mainframe environments and provide application design and development expertise.
Design, document, and coordinate changes to legacy modules.
Develop, install, and evaluate application software on mainframe systems.
Deliver technical architecture solution elements and ensure design requirements meet business objectives.
Collaborate with project teams to define requirements, functional specifications, and application solution designs.
Analyze and assess feasibility and compatibility with other programs and projects.
Provide quality control for project deliverables.
Define and develop highly complex system requirements, test, debug, and implement applications.
Assess architecture and hardware limitations, design system specifications, and ensure hardware/software compatibility.
Plan, conduct, and direct analysis and resolution of business problems using automated systems.
Design, install, and modify operating systems, utility software, and databases to meet business needs.
Develop and troubleshoot complex software programs compatible with mainframe hardware systems.
Perform cost analysis of vendor-supplied products for efficiency and customization.
Research and recommend new technologies to support business requirements.
Provide technical consultation and guidance to other teams and clients.
Mentor and provide leadership to less experienced personnel.

Mainframe Application Design and Development
Web Services Exposure via CICS Transaction Server (CTS)
Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Analysis, Testing, Debugging, and Documentation
Healthcare IT Systems, Medicaid, and Medicare Claims Processing
Technical Leadership and Mentorship

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
