Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Overview An externship experience at an NVA hospital will give veterinary students the unique opportunity to understand the day‑to‑day operations of the practice and to gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience. The environment is supportive, committed to excellent medicine, and provides exceptional service to animals and their owners. Responsibilities Shadow doctors and highly qualified technicians. Work up cases alongside the attending veterinarian. Assist in surgical procedures. Develop anesthesia protocols. Ask questions and learn about daily practice life. Schedule Externship experiences at Churchville Veterinary Clinic range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. Remuneration Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend of $1,500.
