HSOM-Open Rank-Surgery (Pediatric Surgeon) Title HSOM-Open Rank-Surgery (Pediatric Surgeon) Assignment Category Full-Time Rank Open Rank Payroll Status Faculty 12 The University of Alabama Birmingham, Heersink School of Medicine, Department of Surgery is currently recruiting faculty candidates at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to be considered for a tenure track or non‑tenure track faculty appointment in the Division of Pediatric Surgery. The successful candidate will be expected to meet clinical, research and teaching needs, as applicable, in the Department of Surgery. The Division of Pediatric Surgery offers comprehensive general and specialized surgical treatment of a wide range of neonatal, pediatric and adolescent conditions. Our faculty practice is at Children’s of Alabama, the only medical center in Alabama dedicated solely to the care and treatment of children. The Division offers two fellowships: a Pediatric Surgery Fellowship accredited by the ACGME, and a Pediatric Endoscopic Surgery Fellowship, not accredited by the ACGME. In addition to patient care, the Division supports education of health professionals and encourages advanced research to further medical science. Required Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or Ph.D. and will be an outstanding leader and highly skilled, widely recognized in the field with a strong track record. The candidate should have substantial professional work experience in one or more areas of research, teaching, and/or service.
