Operating Room AssistantThe Operating Room Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures. This position is responsible for preparing the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and sterile, holding retractors and assisting with patient positioning and transport. The Operating Room Assistant helps maintain a safe and clean environment, anticipate the needs of the surgical team, respond quickly to requests, and communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare staff. May assist with patient preparation, including shaving, cleaning, and draping, as well as transporting patients to and from the operating room.Job Responsibilities:Prepare operating rooms for surgical proceduresEnsure all surgical instruments and equipment are sterile and readyAssist with patient positioning and transportAssist with retracting during proceduresMaintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocolsDispose of waste materials according to hospital policiesAssist surgical team as needed during proceduresRestock supplies and equipment in operating roomsCommunicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other staffOther duties as assigned.Education Requirements:Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.Experience Requirements:Minimum: NonePreferred: Previous experience in a hospital environmentLicense/Certification Requirements:Minimum: NoneEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
