Travel RT, Respiratory Therapist

Description Registered Respiratory Therapist (RT) responsible for performing a range of therapeutic procedures including advanced practice such as operating balloon pumps, working in NICU, performing pulmonary function testing (PFT), and other therapy duties. Qualifications Willingness to float throughout the hospital and/or multiple hospital locations. Cannot hold a concurrent position at a Trinity Health facility. Ability to complete orientation and training for varying schedules. Minimum 2 years of current acute setting experience; hospital not nursing home or rehab. RT licensed; current RRT credential required. Valid BLS and ACLS certifications. Responsibilities Perform all duties of a Respiratory Therapist per AARC guidelines and maintain competency per RT II orientation. Respond to cardiopulmonary arrest and other emergency situations. Participate in patient rounds; ensure treatments follow physician orders and protocols. Maintain equipment in safe operating condition; contact repair personnel or charge therapists as needed. Use clinical assessment to suggest therapy changes to medical staff. Execute oxygen and medical air shutdown procedures. Review and comply with hospital policies and procedures. Prioritize and address conflicting respiratory care requests. Provide culturally competent care considering age, developmental, and cultural needs. Demonstrate annual unit/area competencies. Participate in new educational programs, equipment and procedure implementations. Provide instruction to staff or students during clinical training and give feedback. Other duties as assigned. Supplemental Duties Complete Health Stream yearly per Trinity Health standards. Maintain professional growth log. Education & Credentials Graduate of a two‑year advanced practitioner Respiratory Therapist program: registry eligible. Maintain current RRT credential. Hold valid BLS and ACLS certifications. Pay Range: $42.67 per hour (excluding differential and travel stipend).
