Electrician

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Pay: $20-$29

Job Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan electrical installations.
• Install, repair, and maintain wiring, lighting, and electrical control systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and diagnostic methods.
• Ensure electrical systems comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and safety standards.
• Connect wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, outlets, and other electrical components.
• Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to prevent issues.
• Collaborate with general contractors, project managers, and other trades to complete projects on time.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order.
• Accurately document work performed, materials used, and project progress.
• Submit daily reports and weekly time sheets as required per jobsite and company policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent experience in the electrical trade.
• Valid electrician's license or certification (state-dependent).
• 3–5 years of experience in residential, commercial, or industrial electrical work preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the NEC and local building codes.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to various job sites.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
• Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand or kneel for extended periods.

Work Environment

• Construction sites, residential homes, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities.
• May include overtime, weekends, and emergency call-outs depending on project needs.
