Practice social distancing, observe mask mandates and maintain hand washing routine as ordered by the CDC, Palm Beach County, and the State of Florida.Essentials Job FunctionsWelcome and greet every guest.Consistently provide friendly, engaging, and anticipatory guest service and heartfelt hospitality.Distribute menus and seat guests, if host/hostess is not available.Provide immediate attention to all guests upon seating.Describe menu and daily specials. Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way.Receive and complete orders. Manage guest orders in a timely and anticipatory manner.Correctly customize orders as requested.Submit orders to kitchen and bar by entering orders in POS system. Explain any special instructions with accurate abbreviations.Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, such as coffee and/or tea, according to designated recipes and quality standards.Serve drinks and meals according to service standards.Offer, open and pour wine when serving guests.Follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction and make recommendation for additions.Observe guests, respond to additional requests, and determine when the meal has been completed.Maintain the highest level of standards of products and service at all times.Responsible for coordinating table service with front- and back-of-house personnel to provide a guest experience that meets or exceeds guest expectations.Verify accuracy of all checks before presenting to guests and present in a timely manner.Accurately operate the point of sale (POS) and process payments.Maintain full knowledge of all food & beverage items, garnishes, allergens, contents and preparation methods.Remove soiled dishes and maintain cleanliness. Maintain full knowledge of and comply with food safety and sanitation policies at all times.Advise supervisor/manager of any complaints as soon as they occur.Perform opening and closing procedures, complete checklists and assigned side work.Clean and sanitize assigned areas thoroughly before and after shift end.Assist support staff with polishing glasses and silverware, folding napkins, cleaning and sanitizing menus, etc.Maintain high standards of personal appearance and personal hygiene.Demonstrate ability to multi-task, manage time and work well under pressure.Maintain knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures and is aware of accident prevention policies.Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards.Maintain a professional courteous manner with all guests and fellow employees.Adhere to local and government compliance with health and safety regulations to ensure a clean and safe work environment for guests and employees.Assist with special and deep cleaning projects as assigned by a supervisor.Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor.Assist Food Runners and Bussers with stocking supplies, removing and resetting dishes and silverware between courses, and cleaning and resetting vacated tables.QualificationsAbility to input and access data in a POS system.Ability to promote positive relations with all guests.Ability to think clearly, quickly, maintain concentration and make concise decisions.Ability to learn and remember guests' names and preferences.Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.Ability to maintain hotel's standards, policies and procedures.Ability to work in a restaurant environment.Ability to maintain regular attendance, be consistently on time, and observe work, break and meal periods in compliance with standards.Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.Excellent time management skills.Ability to work well under pressure.Ability to work cohesively with other departments and co-workers as part of a team.Ability to work in a high pace environment.Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
