Maintenance Mechanic A – ADUSA Transportation Job Requisition: 404253 | Location: 1703 East D Street, Butner, NC, USA | Category: Distribution | Employment Type: Full-time | Seniority Level: Entry level. Overview As a Maintenance Mechanic A, you will perform maintenance tasks and work orders on all assigned facilities and equipment both inside and outside the facility. You will complete facilities and equipment repairs reflecting substantial variety and complexity, based on expected proficiencies established through the Facilities Maintenance Structure and Program. In this role you will work with teams supporting one of the largest grocery retail supply chains in the nation, with clients including Food Lion, Giant Food, The GIANT Company, Hannaford and Stop & Shop. Responsibilities Ensure all equipment and facilities are operating effectively and efficiently to support all operations, and that all equipment meets standards, codes and regulatory requirements. Carry out duties in a productive manner and learn skills available through training and job shadowing. Enter work into the computer maintenance system throughout the shift and use it to investigate and identify repeat repairs and previous work performed on that equipment. Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment and systems as necessary. Be proficient in performing preventative and predictive maintenance with little or no assistance. Able to safely shut down systems and equipment and meet all standards, codes and regulatory requirements. Able to troubleshoot and perform repairs on complex systems and equipment. Meet evaluation standards on work orders and observations by management to assess and evaluate skill level and proficiency within the maintenance department. Able to provide guidance and training to Mechanic B level individuals and support associates. Remain proficient in the maintenance trade and stay current with today’s technology as required and offered by training courses/classes. Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes that maximize efficiency, productivity and reduce costs. Ensure compliance with company standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity. Perform work at elevated levels in areas of safety, electrical, electronics, refrigeration, material handling, mechanical, welding, fire systems and domestic water/waste water (where applicable). Follow good sanitation practices and keep work area clean and free of debris. Qualifications Prior experience in mechanical areas. Certified on powered industrial equipment where applicable. Familiarity/experience in a maintenance environment. Elevated experience, expertise and proficiency in one or more of the following essential functions: safety, electrical, refrigeration, material handling, mechanical, welding, fire systems, domestic water/waste water. Mechanics are required to supply their own tools. Physical Requirements Dexterity with both hands. Ability to reach, stoop, bend and lift up to and including 80 lbs. Ability to work in a –5 to 90+ degree Fahrenheit environment for long periods of time. Able to perform work in difficult body positions and environmental conditions from time to time. Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions such as cool temperatures, concrete floors and powered industrial trucks. Preferred Requirements High school education or equivalent. Mechanical and electrical aptitude. Successful completion of assessment evaluation to demonstrate experience and proficiency. Good communication, verbal and written skills. Knowledge and understanding of schematic/blueprint documents. Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers. Ability to work needed schedule with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to learn more complex tasks as experience is gained over time. Ability to supply own tools to complete required work. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to provide guidance or coordination with the operation and maintenance staff.
