Join Our Dynamic Team as a Medical Lab Scientist!

Job Description:

- Role : Medical Lab Scientist
- Department : 200291 Transfusion Services
- Shift : Thursday-Saturday, 1800-0630
- Additional Required Shift : Every other Wednesday, 2200-0630
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours : 36

Qualifications :
- Licenses : Preference for candidates with NV license
- Required Certifications : Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) (ASCP)
- Experience : Minimum of 2 years required, with prior travel experience on one 13-week assignment preferred
- Ideal Experience : Core Lab/Generalist preferred (experience solely in Microbiology or Blood Bank may not be suitable)

Technical Skills :
- Familiarity with the following equipment is a plus:
- Chemistry: Roche Cobas Pro
- Hematology: Sysmex XN with Cellavision
- Coagulation: Stago STAR Max
- Urinalysis: UN 3000

Work Environment :
- Join an extremely busy and fast-paced lab environment!
- Serve a diverse population as part of a Level 2 trauma center
- Work within an 800 inpatient bed hospital and 80 ER beds across a 500-mile radius

Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct quality and timely laboratory tests for patients of all ages
- Effectively report test results to nursing and medical staff
- Communicate any delays in patient care and assist with technical inquiries
- Provide excellent customer service and support to a diverse patient population

Additional Notes :
- Travelers may be required to float to meet organizational needs
- Must work 2 or 3 major holidays and one additional shift during the schedule period
- Be prepared for variable schedules based on department needs, including weekends and holidays
