Registered Nurse - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)This is a 13-week contract position.Shifts vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours and can include Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends/Holidays. There is no guarantee of hours or shift preference. On-call shifts may be required 0-3 times per month (8-hour night shifts and 24-hour shifts on weekends/holidays).The PACU Registered Nurse provides care for patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, demonstrating advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and patient assessment. Responsibilities include monitoring patients post-surgery, assessing incision sites, tracking body temperature, and managing indicators of stability or complications.Care for patients in pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recoveryMonitor vital signs and assess post-operative conditionsCommunicate effectively with the healthcare teamPrepare and educate patients and families for the recovery processAdminister medications and treatments as prescribed2+ years of experience as a critical care RN (ER & ICU experience may be accepted in place of PACU experience)Valid BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart AssociationA valid professional license within the state of Hawaii is required prior to the start of the assignmentPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credential is recommendedOther specialty-related certifications (e.g., NIHSS, TNCC) may be requiredAt ARMStaffing, we take care of our employees!
