Position Title: Open Rank Psychiatrist - Inpatient Virtual Position Type: Permanent Faculty Appointment Type: Fixed Term Faculty Location: North Carolina, US Start Date: 07/01/2024 Position Summary The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking a fixed term open rank faculty member to accommodate clinical needs in the Department. The position will provide inpatient clinical assessments and treatment plans. Duties will also include teaching/supervising fellows, residents, medical students and other trainees from a variety of disciplines. This position will also work virtually providing psychiatric care to inpatient individuals via our EPIC platform. You will work virtually, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the mental well-being and recovery of patients at Jonas Hills Hospital. The candidate will maintain accurate and up‑to‑date electronic medical records (EPIC) and clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Applicants must have an MD or DO, be BC/BE, and be eligible for North Carolina licensure. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience The successful candidate will have strong clinical skills and experience working with a multi-disciplinary team, including trainees from a variety of disciplines. Candidates should have clinical experience working with the severely and persistently mentally ill, and substance‑using patients. Campus Security Authority Responsibilities Not Applicable.
