Financial Controller

Our client is scaling fast, entering new states and new lines of business, and they need a Controller who can build the accounting function to match. The Opportunity Our client is a growing, multi-state organization in a highly regulated industry, backed by new ownership investment. They are hiring a Controller to lead accounting operations across multiple legal entities, reporting into executive leadership. This is a high-visibility seat with direct exposure to ownership. What You'll Own Full-cycle monthly close across multiple legal entities, including consolidation and intercompany activity GAAP and regulatory financial reporting, including required statutory filings Revenue and settlement accounting tied to the client's core operating activity Multi-state regulatory compliance, tax filings, and reporting calendars External audit, regulatory examination, and third-party reporting coordination Internal controls, accounting policy, and process improvement as the company scales Monthly reporting packages and analysis for executive leadership and ownership Leadership and development of the accounting team What You Bring 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a leadership or supervisory role Experience in a regulated, multi-entity, multi-state environment Strong technical accounting foundation and comfort with statutory or regulatory reporting requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred Systems aptitude and comfort improving processes rather than inheriting them Clear communicator who can present financials to non-financial stakeholders Why This Role Active growth phase with new markets, new products, and real capital behind it.
