Position Title: Transportation Clerk
Department: Transportation / Logistics
Reports To: Transportation Supervisor
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Transportation Clerk with 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) experience to support daily transportation and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, experience creating Bills of Lading and manifests, and the ability to communicate effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily transportation and shipping activities within a 3PL warehouse environment.
- Create and process Bills of Lading (BOLs) , shipping manifests, and other transportation documents.
- Schedule and monitor inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and transportation documentation.
- Generate simple reports in Microsoft Excel using raw data.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, warehouse personnel, customers, and internal departments.
- Use Microsoft Teams and Outlook for daily communication and scheduling.
- Assist with shipment tracking, delivery status updates, and issue resolution.
- Ensure all shipping documentation is complete and accurate.
- Support warehouse operations while maintaining compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of Transportation Clerk or Logistics Coordinator experience , preferably in a 3PL warehouse environment .
- Experience creating Bills of Lading (BOLs) and shipping manifests.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel , including creating reports from raw data (sorting, filtering, formulas, and pivot tables are a plus).
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams .
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Experience coordinating with carriers and freight providers.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced warehouse and logistics environment.
- Frequent interaction with warehouse personnel, drivers, and transportation carriers.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the shift as needed.
Schedule: Monday–Friday (Overtime and weekends as needed)
Pay Rate: DOE (Depending on Experience)
