Software Development Manager, Onboarding Experience

Salary: $154,000 - 194,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams
• We need 7+ years of engineering experience
• We require 8+ years leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
• We need 1+ years providing technical leadership and project management across the software development lifecycle
• We require 1+ years developing large-scale, multi-tier distributed software systems using Java, C#, or C++
• We require 1+ years developing large-scale, multi-tier distributed software systems with service-oriented architecture
• We require 1+ years developing large-scale, multi-tier distributed software systems using distributed programming
• We need 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or in a related role
• We require a bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• We need knowledge of engineering practices and patterns across the full software, hardware, and networks development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations
• We require experience partnering with product or program management teams
• We prefer experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements, explain product features, describe technical designs, and shape product strategy
• We prefer experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, coaching, and managing Software Engineer teams to strengthen skills and improve effectiveness

• We lead our team to build a new product with quality, resilience, and Amazon-scale performance as top priorities
• We focus on being strong people managers by building, motivating, rewarding, and coaching a diverse team of Software Development Engineers
• We recruit and retain top talent while handling day-to-day people and performance management
• We contribute to architecture and design discussions for full-stack software
• We guide our service architecture to ensure quality, robustness, and Amazon-scale performance
• We take part in deep-dive troubleshooting and drive technical post-mortems to identify root causes of complex issues
• We set the vision for our team and create technical roadmaps
• We help sort out technical and product requirements and priorities
• We deliver roadmap items and cross-team initiatives
• We stay focused on customer needs and create innovative solutions using new technology
