Software Engineer - Automation (Commercial Banking)

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus at least 3 years of applied experience.
• Hands-on automation experience with Core Java, Selenium, JUnit/TestNG, Cucumber, SoapUI, REST APIs, Eclipse IDE, Maven, Jenkins, IntelliJ, or similar tools.
• Understanding of business analysis, software development, maintenance, and improvement.
• Ability to create automation frameworks when needed.
• Familiarity with JIRA or similar tools for test case and defect management.
• Experience working with Agile (Scrum) teams.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools, including the ability to evaluate and refine generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; ability to guide teammates in safe, effective use.
• Knowledge of the software development life cycle.
• Solid understanding of Agile practices, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Preferred: Exposure to cloud and AI technologies.
• Preferred: Load-testing experience with JMeter or BlazeMeter.

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions, using sound judgment to address technical problems beyond routine approaches.
• Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate in coordination with relevant systems.
• Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assistants to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity on complex work, validating results through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding practices; share useful learnings and reusable patterns with the team.
• Apply software development life cycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation.
• Produce architecture and design materials for complex applications and ensure the delivered code meets design constraints.
• Analyze and synthesize large, varied datasets and create visualizations and reports to support ongoing improvement of applications and systems.
• Identify less-obvious issues and patterns in data and use those insights to improve coding practices and system architecture.
