Principal Network Engineer

Company Overview A leading financial services company with a century-long history is seeking a Principal Network Engineer to lead enterprise network operations across cloud, hybrid cloud, and on-premise environments. Job Responsibilities Serve as the technical lead for network infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and on-premise environments. Own application delivery and reliability strategy focusing on DNS, global traffic management, and load balancing. Develop and maintain automation using Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, and GitHub Actions. Troubleshoot network issues from Layer 7 backward, using tools like Wireshark and browser HAR files. Lead and mentor engineers from adjacent teams on project-based work. Maintain thorough documentation of designs, decisions, and operational procedures. Qualifications Minimum 8 years of experience supporting large enterprise multi-cloud hybrid network stacks. Deep understanding of DNS architecture, BGP, dynamic routing protocols, and high availability designs. Proficiency with Python scripting, Ansible, Terraform, and GitOps workflows. Experience with cloud networking best practices in Azure and AWS. Proficient with Wireshark and Linux command line. Ability to operate as a self-directed team of one and lead borrowed resources.
