Controls & Automation Technician (Industrial/Sawmill)

Accentuate Staffing is assisting a well-established manufacturing company who is hiring a Controls Automation Technician to join their team at their sawmill operation. This is a direct hire opportunity in a hands‑on, heavy industrial environment supporting 24/7 production equipment. This role offers strong overtime potential and the opportunity to be a key contributor to plant operations. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and maintain automated sawmill and production equipment to minimize downtime Program, troubleshoot, and modify Allen Bradley PLCs using Studio 5000 and RSLogix Diagnose and repair electrical systems ranging from 4–20 mA signals to 480V 3-phase power Work with automation components including photo eyes, proximity sensors, encoders, and pressure transducers Support and troubleshoot HMI/SCADA systems (FactoryTalk View or similar) Perform hands‑on troubleshooting of motors, drives (VFDs), conveyors, and processing equipment Partner with maintenance, operations, and OEM vendors to resolve equipment issues quickly Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to increase uptime and efficiency Maintain accurate documentation of PLC programs, changes, and maintenance activities Provide on‑call and after‑hours support for critical equipment Requirements 5–7+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or automation in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting Hands‑on experience with Allen Bradley PLCs (troubleshooting and basic programming) Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including 480V and control circuits Experience working with automation sensors and control systems Comfortable working in a hands‑on, outdoor/industrial environment (sawmill, wood products, or similar) Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment Comfortable working around heavy equipment, moving machinery, noise, dust, and outdoor conditions Must be willing to participate in on‑call rotation and work extended hours as needed #J-18808-Ljbffr Accentuate Staffing
