HR ASSISTANT (FULL TIME)

Job Summary Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Director on all personnel matters and assists with payroll processing. Location Stephen F. Austin University, 2102 Alumni Drive, Nacogdoches, TX 75962 Schedule Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, with some evenings and weekends as needed. Pay Range $16.00 – $18.00 per hour. Requirements At least 2 years of experience in an HR Assistant or similar HR support role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions. Conduct benefits enrollment for new employees. Verify I‑9 documentation and complete I‑9 forms; track and initiate updates as required. Submit online investigation requests and assist with employee background checks. Conduct audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs; recommend corrective action. Update HR spreadsheets with employee change requests and process paperwork. Assist with processing terminations. Assist with the preparation of performance review forms. Assist HR Manager with various research projects and/or special projects. Assist with the recruitment and interview process. Assist with various employee discount coupons by contacting companies as directed by HR Manager. Schedule meetings and interviews as requested by HR Manager. Schedule conferences by reserving facilities at local hotels and/or restaurants. Make photocopies, fax documents and perform other clerical functions. File papers and documents into appropriate employee files. Prepare correspondence. Prepare new employee files. Process mail. Perform other duties as assigned.
