Job Opportunity – NICU Registered Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week assignment, 36 or 48 hours per week, Night shift, 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period, every other holiday

Highlights:

• Level III/IV NICU with 54-bed capacity caring for complex neonatal patients including extreme prematurity (22 weeks and above), cardiac anomalies, and post-operative cases
• Patient ratio of 1:2-1:3 depending on acuity level; ICU assignments are 1:1 or 1:2, stepdown assignments are 1:3
• Advanced specialty equipment including ECMO, Arctic Sun cooling systems, Drager ventilators, high-frequency oscillatory/jet ventilation, and iNO
• Epic charting system with 36 hours of orientation provided
• Interdisciplinary team support including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
• Floating required to PICU, Pediatrics, Postpartum, and Labor & Delivery within scope of practice

Requirements:

• Current Virginia RN license (pending licenses accepted, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of full-time Level III NICU experience required; Level IV highly preferred
• BLS and NRP certification required at time of submission
• Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (may be pending at submission)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Strong clinical competency with high-frequency ventilators, conventional ventilators, iNO, trachs, hemodynamic support, whole body cooling, and IV drip management
• Experience with patient ratio of 1:3 in similar NICU environment
• Proficiency in advanced NICU skills including IV placement, lab draws, central line care, umbilical line management, chest tube care, ostomy care, and assisting with procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture, and PICC placement
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• References and Nursys verification required with submission
• BSN preferred

Additional Information:

• Maximum 40 hours of time off allowed during the 13-week contract
• No time off approved for Labor Day weekend or during the first two weeks of assignment
• Time off requests must be disclosed at submission; no additional requests approved after offer acceptance
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must meet separation requirements
