Details Med/Surg Oncology unit with continuous cardiac monitoring for chemotherapy patients Cares for soft tissue malignancy patients receiving diagnostic services, chemotherapy, and symptom management Patient population includes symptom management related to disease progression and comorbidity management Strong focus on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention Patient ratio of 1:4 Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-7:30 12-hour rotating D/N contract with schedule reviewed every 4-week period May be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination based on department needs Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity Uses B450 monitors with GE telemetry system, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Acute care experience must be current and within the last 12 months in the specialty applied for Epic EMR experience required Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Experience accessing and managing ports Experience with arterial line management Experience with blood product administration Experience with central line and PICC line care/management IV start and IV therapy/phlebotomy skills required Experience assisting with chest tube insertion/removal Experience with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) Experience interpreting ABGs Chemotherapy administration experience preferred BiPAP/CPAP management experience preferred Tracheostomy care/management experience preferred PCA medication management experience preferred Insulin drip titration experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Oncology experience preferred but not required Additional Information Provide direct patient care to oncology patients requiring cardiac monitoring, chemotherapy, and symptom management Willingness to learn and grow nursing practice is welcomed 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second from a Charge RN; coworker references not accepted Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility Current employees of the health system are ineligible for a travel assignment at this facility RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less Locals accepted at the same rate Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location soon after booking Candidates at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete promptly First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-731081.
