Job Summary Certifies clients for participation in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). Provides nutrition counseling, education, and follow‑up services to WIC Program clients. Supports breastfeeding among WIC clients and develops nutrition care plans that are documented in the WIC data system (FL WiSE) in accordance with the WIC Manual DHM 150-24. Responsibilities Develop high‑risk nutrition care plans for medical high‑risk clients and schedule follow‑up counseling sessions. Perform anthropometric duties including hemoglobin testing as needed. Provide group nutrition education classes to WIC participants. Design nutrition educational materials for use in the WIC Program. Assist in training new WIC nutrition staff in the certification and counseling process. Assist in the development and evaluation of the nutrition program plan and related documents. Complete EARs reports, nutrition education activity reports, and other documentation required by the supervisor. Attend meetings and seminars related to the WIC Program. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of normal nutrition principles and food needs throughout the life cycle. Ability to determine nutritional needs and formulate nutrition education plans for individuals who are at medical high nutritional risk and those who are not. Ability to provide nutrition education to individuals in both group and individual settings. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues. Qualifications Minimum Florida State Licensure as a Dietitian/Nutritionist (Florida Statutes Chapter 468 Section 509) Bachelor's degree required. Valid Driver's license. Preferred Bilingual ability in English and Spanish. Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. At least one year of WIC experience.
