The Developmental Disabilities Service Professional plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to enhance their quality of life. This position involves directly assisting clients in daily activities, implementing care plans, and advocating for their needs within various environments. The worker ensures the safety and wellbeing of clients while fostering independence and positive behavior.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and assistance to clients in daily living activities
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor and document client behavior and progress
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and incidents
- Advocate for clients’ rights and needs within community and care settings
- Enforce safety protocols to ensure client protection
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in developmental disabilities support
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean driving record
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides direct care, supervision, and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at a day program.
