Seed Quality Lab Technician Regular Full-Time Atlanta, IN, US 8 days ago | Requisition ID: 2322 The Seed Quality Lab Technician will work closely with the Seed Quality Lab Manager to perform tasks for the seed quality lab focusing on germination, purity and trait verification. Benefits Health benefits including two medical plan options and company HSA contributions, dental, vision, employer paid life/AD&D for you and your dependents, disability insurance, and access to an onsite Nurse Practitioner 401k plan match & company sponsored pension plan and access to a Financial Advisor to help you manage your retirement savings Paid time off, Paid Holidays, Wellness Programs, & Corporate Discounts Company Christmas Party, Free Lunch, Two Hundred Dollar Merchandise Allowance, & Much More Responsibilities Perform the following in the Seed Quality Lab as needed: Subsampling seed for lab tests Independently follow instructions to prepare lab test media, including but not limited to sand/soil mixing and sifting, tray preparation, and herbicide bioassay towel preparation Independently follow instructions to complete germination, vigor, purity, and herbicide bioassay testing Interpret lab results from each test and recording each result Data entry of test results into the lab data management system Maintaining and cleaning of work areas Assist with other duties as required by the Seed Quality Lab Manager Job Requirements Education and training Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related fields and/or Seed Lab experience, preferred High School Diploma or GED equivalent, required Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy Technical knowledge Excellent written and verbal communications skills Possesses a positive attitude Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and work as a team member High-level attention to detail, organized, and be able to consistently deliver timely and accurate results Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office and spreadsheets Experience Experience in a seed testing lab is preferred, but not required Physical Demands Be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time In an effort to provide a safer, drug‑free workplace for employees, all full‑time applicants to whom offers of employment are made must submit to a drug test and background check, subject to applicable local, state, or federal laws or regulations.
