Automotive Fleet Supervisor

Job Description This position maintains a safe, reliable, and cost-efficient fleet of vehicles, including ground support equipment and street vehicles. It ensures proper use and care of physical assets, helps prevent equipment failures, controls costs, manages external vendor relationships, works closely with auto mechanics and internal customers, and performs regular equipment and facility audits. It monitors fleet vehicle equipment maintenance and identifies cost-saving opportunities. It supervises mechanics within the department. Job Details Location: RIPRO, 150 Plan Way, Warwick, RI 02886 Job Level: Supervisor Work Schedule: Start between 2 to 3 PM and sometimes later, based on business needs. Responsibilities Schedules preventative maintenance inspections and reviews results, monitors repairs, and performs vehicle audits to ensure safety, regulatory, and appearance standards. Analyzes equipment or vehicle system failures to determine root causes and resolve problems; plans and coordinates equipment repairs with internal and external groups. Ensures adequate inventory levels (e.g., parts, tires) to support business processes. Adheres to purchasing limits, expense approval procedures, and equipment disposal guidelines to stay within cost plans. Reviews and approves automotive expenses. Determines employee training needs to support continuous development plans. Conducts performance evaluations and resolves individual and group performance issues. Qualifications Automotive background - preferred Knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair for vehicle or aircraft fleet operation Ability to manage equipment repair and oversee the correction of problems with tools, machinery, and other standard technical equipment Ability to manage inspections, physical assets, and working relationships with vendors Employee Type Permanent Basic Qualifications Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
