Senior Accountant

Essential Functions and Primary Duties Lead engagements, review provider cost reports, analyze health care provider financial information, and perform reimbursement calculationsIndependently perform various analyses and audits relating to Medicaid engagementsMentor and train staff accountantsProvide quality assurance reviews on audit working papers and reports completed by other team members as well as self-reviewConduct research in order to determine billing and reimbursement compliance with relevant Medicaid or other government program regulationsCoordinate staffing on projectsReview applicable Federal and State Medicaid policies and regulations relating to healthcare reimbursementReview working papers to document scope and findings of audit in accordance with Medicaid or other government program regulations and AICPA standardsWork with the defined scope of the projectCommunicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, both internally and externallyMaintain security of and confidentiality of all protected health informationAdditional responsibilities as assigned Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in accounting or related field CPA, or CPA candidate 3 years' experience in healthcare analytics/auditing, public accounting, or related field Experience with Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting 1 year of supervisory experience Experience running audit engagements Familiarity with database and report writing Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments Strong verbal and written communication skills Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required #LI-MM3 #LI-Hybrid ABOUT US Myers and Stauffer LC is a certified public accounting and health and human services consulting firm, specializing in audit, accounting, data management and consulting services to government-sponsored health care programs (primarily state Medicaid agencies, and the federal Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services).
