Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience worked in the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a New York license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - Rochester Regional Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Rochester Regional Health System.

Additional Details:

Lab Completion: All health-related requirements and lab work must be completed within 5 calendar days of signing. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Required Skills/Experience: RNs need to have a mandatory competency with phlebotomy as well as placing IVs. Interpretation of dysrhythmias. Management of dysrhythmias. Use of rapid response teams. Peripheral line care/management. Nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tank. Non-invasive airway management. Isolation precautions.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Special Requests: No locals within 75 miles. We will not allow more than 1 week RTO in a contract.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Patient diagnoses include colon cancer, intestinal obstructions, breast cancer, morbid obesity, cholecystitis, and appendicitis. Day/Eve ratios are 5 to 1 (stretch 6-7). Night ratios are expected to be 6-7 to 1 (stretch 8 -10 if staff calls in). PCTs on all units do vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call required.

Floating Requirements: All travelers are required to float to MS units within scope as needed.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.

7 days maximum time off. Maximum consecutive days off: 10
