Position Summary Christa is seeking a hands‑on Senior Accountant to help manage and strengthen the company’s accounting function across its corporate, development, construction, property‑management, and project‑level entities. The role covers the full accounting cycle, from accounts payable and monthly close through project‑cost reporting, construction draws, property accounting, lender reporting, and investor equity tracking. The Senior Accountant will maintain and improve Sage, establish scalable accounting processes, and produce reliable reporting for leadership and external stakeholders. This position offers a clear opportunity to grow into an Accounting Manager and eventually Controller role as the company expands. Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting across multiple corporate, project, construction, ownership, and property‑management entities. Oversee accounts payable and receivable, invoice coding, payment processing, journal entries, bank and credit‑card reconciliations, and intercompany activity. Lead month‑end close and prepare company, property, entity, and project‑level financial reports. Maintain and improve Sage, including the chart of accounts, job and property codes, approval workflows, and reporting packages. Track project budgets, contracts, commitments, change orders, retainage, job costs, development fees, and cost‑to‑complete information. Prepare and administer construction draws, lender requisitions, funding requests, sources-and‑uses reports, and supporting documentation. Track lender funding, investor and sponsor equity contributions, distributions, capital accounts, and remaining project‑funding requirements. Manage property accounting, including rent and other receivables, security deposits, operating expenses, property bank accounts, management fees, and owner reporting. Establish practical accounting controls and procedures that can scale with additional projects, entities, and properties. Coordinate with leadership, project teams, property managers, lenders, investors, outside CPAs, tax advisors, and vendors. Qualifications At least five years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in real estate development, construction, or property management. Hands‑on Sage accounting experience required. Experience with full‑cycle and multi‑entity accounting, month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Experience with construction job costing, lender draws, project budgets, and equity tracking strongly preferred. Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual‑basis accounting. Advanced Excel and financial‑reporting skills. Highly organized, self‑directed, and capable of establishing structure within a growing organization. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered. Willingness to work full‑time from the Rochester office.
