Position Summary The Advanced Specialty Sonographer provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic sonographic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention. Location: 601 East Dixie Avenue, Suite 301, Leesburg, FL 34738 Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30am-4:45pm Responsibilities Acts as sonography section leader and represents ultrasonography to the Imaging Services Manager in equipment choice, technical issues, or personnel matters. Works closely with Radiologist, Perinatologist, and/or Cardiologist to perform diagnostic sonographic exams. Exerts professional judgment, maintaining a demeanor complimentary to quality care. Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures. Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality. Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and commitment to excellence standards. Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age‑specific needs. Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results. Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation. Positions patient, equipment, associated devices, and manipulates technical factors to achieve high‑quality images for interpretation. Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring all relevant anatomy is demonstrated. Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks. Administers medical aid as required for any emergency. Assists in supervision of student sonographers and training of new sonographers. Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross‑contamination of contagious diseases. Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately. Ensures safety of all customers. Directs and assists with daily workflow of the imaging team, including patient flow, supply ordering, staff assignments, and resolution of customer service issues. Plans and prioritizes exam scheduling and processing to support the needs of patients and physicians. Actively participates in departmental projects and process improvement initiatives. Assists manager in holding self and team accountable for producing quality images, detailed documentation, and charge management through the Quality Control Program. Orients and precepts staff. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other Related Functions Follows established standards of practice for image processing and interpretation. Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment. Maintains well‑stocked and organized work areas. May be required to work at any facility. Qualifications Education/Training Associate degree in Applied Science and graduation from an accredited school of sonography; meets ARDMS eligibility guidelines and/or CCI guidelines. Licensure/Certification Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registered through ARDMS. Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) registered through ARDMS. Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) registered through CCI. Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate. For Maternal Fetal Medicine sonography: Must maintain ARDMS physics registry and ARDMS OBGYN registry; preferred NTQR certifications include Cervical Length Education and Review (CLEAR), Nuchal Translucency, and Nasal Bone. For Pediatric Congenital sonography: Must maintain applicable registries; may hold RDCS, RCS, or RDMS. Experience Experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine sonography with knowledge of routine ultrasound procedures, including invasive procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, Doppler, 3D/4D; or experience in Pediatric Congenital sonography with ability to perform routine, advanced, and fetal echocardiology exams including 2‑D, M‑Mode, Color Flow, and Spectral Doppler. #J-18808-Ljbffr Orlando Health
