BENEFIT PROGRAM SPECIALIST II Department of Social Services, Montgomery County, VA Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of Benefit Program Specialists. Perform daily activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services and benefits to customers. Act as a policy resource for team members. Assist workers in using automated systems for eligibility determination. Handle customer issues and concerns. Conduct team meetings. Provide oversight of Benefit Program Specialists in the absence of supervisors. Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and monitor workload distribution. Collaborate with the management team to continuously improve service delivery. Qualifications Associate degree in Social Work or related field (or equivalent combination of skills and experience). Experience/knowledge in SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, IV-E, and Energy Assistance programs. Creative, proactive, and strong problem‑solving skills. Proficiency with computer and software applications. Quality assurance expertise is helpful. Ability to work normal working hours (8-4:30 M-F) with some evening hours required. Salary: $45,011–$72,016, depending on experience and qualifications.
