DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of a registered nurse in the assigned department and reporting to the Practice Manager, the melanoma nurse performs a wide variety of patient care activities to support clinic activity. Responsibilities include triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient procedures, administering medications, point‑of‑care testing, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, and patient education. The candidate must have experience working in a fast‑pace ambulatory procedural setting and demonstrate initiative, the ability to prioritize critical demands, attention to detail, teamwork, and positive relationship‑building with patients, families, and colleagues. Other related duties are assigned as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) issued by the state of California. BART or BLS at time of hire with a commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date. A minimum of two (2) years of LVN experience. Knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with allergy, immunology and angioedema patient populations. Certification in Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal issued by the state of California (LVN IV/BW) within 3 months of hire. Strong interpersonal skills, presenting a professional demeanor in diverse clinical and community settings and communicating clearly and effectively—both in writing and verbally—to diverse audiences.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.

PAY RANGE

Annual Full Pay Range: $74,980 - $93,229 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $35.91 - $44.65
