Job Description
Title: Lead System Administrator
\nLocation: Itasca, IL (hybrid 4 days a week onsite)
\nType: 24+ month contract
\nDomestic and International Travel required: 20-25%
\nUS Citizens and GCH encouraged to apply. This role does note offer sponsorship now or in the future.
\n \nResponsibilities:
\n- \n
- Builds, installs, and manages physical and virtual server environments. \n
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Server OS and its components including Active Directory, certificate services, IIS, and other related technologies. \n
- Remediates vulnerabilities in the environment. \n
- Installs and configures applications. \n
- Ensures data availability by monitoring backups and testing recovery plans. \n
- Utilize system monitoring software to build dashboards, reports, and alerts. \n
- Consistently communicate with customers and team members \n
- Review and resolve server and networking issues. \n
- Automate redundant tasks and improve processes. \n
- Escalate issues when necessary. \n
- Collaborate with other IT professionals on intradepartmental projects. \n
- Perform other duties as assigned. \n
Required Skills:
\n- \n
- Solid Experience with configuration, installation, and administration of VMWare. \n
- In-depth working experience in Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022. \n
- Experience with data storage and SAN technologies. \n
- Basic PowerShell scripting. \n
- Linux, Exchange, SQL, and Azure experience are a plus. \n
- Motivated, self-starting individual with strong quantitative and problem-solving skills. \n
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with others to achieve improved business processes. \n
- Strong IT customer service skills for supporting end user application issues. \n
- Strong focus on creativity, attention to detail, and productivity. \n
- Capable and motivated to pursue technical issues to resolution. \n
- Motivation and vision for applying advanced automation techniques to manual systems. \n
- Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience. \n
