Fleet & Equipment MechanicOur client is seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet & Equipment Mechanic to keep a diverse fleet of trucks, trailers, landscaping equipment, and snow-removal equipment safe, reliable, and ready for daily operations.Compensation: $28–$40 per hour, depending on experienceBenefits: Excellent Schedule: 40 hours per week + OTThis is a hands-on position for an experienced mechanic who enjoys diagnosing problems, making repairs, performing preventative maintenance, and keeping equipment downtime to a minimum.The ideal candidate is a dependable problem solver with strong mechanical and diagnostic skills who takes pride in quality work and maintaining a safe, organized shop.What You'll DoWork closely with the Fleet Manager to plan and prioritize weekly maintenance and repairsInspect, diagnose, service, and repair trucks, trailers, small engines, and fleet equipmentPerform preventative maintenance based on company and manufacturer schedulesRespond to urgent repair needs to minimize equipment downtimeMaintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, parts used, labor hours, and repair notesMaintain a clean, safe, organized, and efficient shop environmentIdentify unsafe equipment and promptly communicate concerns to the Fleet Manager or Operations teamFollow all safety procedures when lifting equipment, using tools, and handling fluids or hazardous materialsPrepare landscaping and snow-removal equipment for seasonal operationsIdentify recurring mechanical issues and recommend long-term solutionsCommunicate effectively with Fleet and Operations regarding equipment condition, repairs, and upcoming maintenance needsEquipment You'll Work OnTrucks and trailersMowersSkid steersPlowsSnow sidewalk machines2-cycle equipmentSmall enginesLandscaping equipmentSnow-removal equipmentWhat We're Looking ForPrevious experience as a Fleet Mechanic, Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Small Engine Mechanic, or in a similar hands-on mechanical roleStrong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic abilitiesExperience servicing and repairing commercial equipmentAbility to diagnose problems and complete repairs efficientlyDependable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented work habitsAbility to work independently while communicating effectively with the Fleet Manager and Operations teamA willingness to work overtime and respond to seasonal equipment needs when required
