Inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ, the mission of Cardinal Ritter Senior Services is to be a recognized provider in giving person centered care through an integrated continuum of quality residential, healthcare, and supportive social services for senior adults throughout the Archdiocese of Saint Louis.Our MissionTo bring the healing, help, and hope of Jesus Christ to those in need with a compassionate, caring presence. POSITION SUMMARYCardinal Ritter Senior Services, a ministry of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, is seeking an on-site Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and ongoing maintenance, including custodial care, to ensure properties and buildings are safe, functional, and well-maintained. Full Time and Part Time opportunities available. For more information: Maintenance Technician Job Details | Archdiocese of St. LouisOVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIESDaily inspect building(s) and grounds, inside and outside, to determine needs for repairs and clean up.Performs a wide variety of building and equipment repair, maintenance work and apartment turnoversPerform painting, drywall repairs, electrical repairs, HVAC repairs, PTAC replacement, plumbing, carpentry, equipment testing and maintenance, etc.Perform service, filter change and cleaning of HVAC and PTAC unitsResponsible for performance and knowledge of custodial duties in case of their absenceKeep time and material records of all Work Orders, as well as supply inventory.Assist Maintenance Department in overseeing and or escorting outside contractors, including regular inspections of any building system, such as fire panel, elevator and boiler inspectionsMaintain all building and maintenance equipment, including snow removal and lawn cutting.Maintain all buildings, lawns, walkways and drives clear of any debris or obstruction.Maintain landscaping, flowerbeds, bushes, grass, etc... keeping them trimmed and clear of weeds.Respond to requests from Management including issues with safety and security.Respond immediately to all emergencies.Responsible for representing Cardinal Ritter Senior Services in a caring professional manner.Maintain CRSS cell phone, charged and available for emergency response at all times.Work with maintenance supervisor on biannual and special projectsMust keep a clean shop and an organized inventory of all parts and equipment.Other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSExperience custodial and service fields, including some experience in skilled trades, such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting or carpentry fields.Knowledge of acceptable trade practices and building standards.The ability to understand and follow directions.The ability to prioritize.SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIREDConduct daily inspection of work areasResponsible for maintaining tools and equipment for safe useMust be able to follow written and verbal instructionsMust be able to utilize work order systemMust be able to follow specific instructionsMust be able to maintain a safe and clean work area free of spills, debris and hazardsSafely operate ladders, lifts and toolsMust be able to prioritize workMust meet and exceed workorder deadlinesDemonstrate knowledge of heating systems- HVACPerform building inspections and report issues, timelyRESOURCES FOR WHICH ACCOUNTABLEResponsible for tools and equipment owned by the site, keeping them maintained and in good working order.Responsible for keeping the common areas in and around the buildings in a clean well- maintained appearance.Must be able to lift 80lbs Cardinal Ritter Senior Services does not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status in the admission or access to, or treatment or employment in, its federally assisted programs and activities.
